Like many of you, we are looking at the diffusion of Artificial Intelligence across the world like humanity discovering fire for the first time. But it is not the first time technology has changed the pivot of civilizations. So, what if anything is different this time with the range of AI tools and capabilities for which we have a constant stream of new announcements of innovations? Probably not much. Though we may ask ourselves if the rocks we now strike together, to flint sparks of flames capable of providing light and blight, also potentially have an ability to think up ways to strike us back and burn the world in ways yet imagined.

All previous technological developments promised a duality of use depending on how people decided to wield it. To our knowledge, none of those inventions could decide how they would wield themselves unperturbed by us. This blog reflects our amateur musings and interest in society’s willingness to ensure that the transformative impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, partially attributable to Artificial Intelligence and other converging technologies, will realize a less humancentric and natural world or not.
